‘Iraikavi’ Bro. E.K.Nathaniel

Bro. E.K. Nathaniel was born in 1959 as the fifth son of Mr. Kannan and Mrs. Kamala, into a Hindu family. Raised in Hindu traditions, his spiritual journey began to change through the influence of his elder brother, who studied in a Christian hostel. During vacations, his brother would teach him Christian songs, prayers, and the Christian way of life. Through this, Bro. Nathaniel came to understand Christ’s sacrifice for humanity. Deeply moved, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized in 1977.

His passion for sharing the Gospel began early—while still in 6th grade, he started teaching fellow students about Christ. After completing school, he served in gospel ministry from 1983 to 1985, walking to villages to preach and offering free evening tuition to students, introducing them to Bible verses, songs, and prayer.

In 1985, Bro. Nathaniel married Sis. Amutha. Though he enrolled in Medical Pharmacy at Pondicherry Polytechnic College, his heart remained in ministry. After much prayer, he and his wife made the bold decision to leave his studies and pursue full-time ministry, inspired by 1 Corinthians 9:16, which emphasizes the call and joy of preaching the Gospel. In June 1987, he joined Chennai Bible Teachers Training College to prepare for lifelong service in God’s work.
